remember those days

I hated highschool, ohk maybe i hated the social side of it since i was what they call "socially awkward".
ever since i remember i was the invisible kid, well me and my siblings were brought up that way, kids were meant to be seen and not heard,i prefered not being seen and not being heard all together.
i went to Eastwood primary and then later Eastwood high, this of cause in Eastwood Pietermaritzburg, a little coloured community,my folks shipped us off there to avoid the political violence in our hood in those days and also to get a good start on this Freedom thing,it was imperative we knew how to speak english. it wasnt an easy transition, my older sister and i were seperated in that godang bording house so we cldnt interact and communicate in isiZulu, she was my one and only friend back then, i had just watched Sarafina so already in the back of my mind these "boesman"folk were heartless.
but not before long as if from the switch of a magical remote soon we were in it.Englishing all the way (forgive me im the creative type i  create words).is me is you is yes....yes we made sense to each other Thokz (sis ) and i,even my younger sister back home got with the english thing, she admired her teachers so at the back of our house she had a classroom full of bottles of dads oude meester and smirnoff bottle students, she would hit then with a stick if they didnt listen "Good Watist (artist)" she would say in admiration,i assume that would be if one of the bottles "drew" something nice?? i donno.
Fastforward ten years later we are still Englishing in what i assume is a proper coloured accent.i tune you bra, i wasnt a lekker looking steki so i involuntarily became a tomboy.played rugby even *covers eyes*.
in highschool, boys had this irritating thing of asking girls out, sies , and girls had this disgusting habit of liking it,i was in HELL, i didnt like boys and i didnt like girls either, there was no God and all adults were jail wardens in my eyes,so my escape was in art,i read and wrote poems, drew, the works, i found a world in library books where things were better than reality, sweet valley high was where i wanted to be,the boys seemed cuter there, i remember falling inlove with fictional characters, i was going all soft inside, and ofcos since those characters were white my best bet in reality  were the coloured boys around me now all of a sudden Mark van nie kerk looked like he stepped out of my book,i cant count how many crushes i had after that, benjamin, Spencer, Pierre, all colored hahha agh life,
Welcome Nakho Ntshangase the loudest coolest girl i came across, befriended her after she  had  my lunch a couple of times, until i decided to just pack her her own lunchbox, and that my friends is how i found my now best friend, she opened up a new world , Epworth socials, Maritzburg college parties HELLO COCONUTS,!!!!

 to be continued
